3 Essential Things to Remember in Blogging

Many people succeed in blogging, and from making money out of it, but most of them aren’t. This is where the term “Blog Marketing” comes and how we should learn about it. There are massive number of blogs on the web that are updating their content every day. However, it is not just enough to have quality content, yet we should have an extensive action plan, so that our blog will stand out. Being the top in a specific field in blogging is not that easy since there are millions of blogs on the internet.

Define your niche well

This perhaps is the very first and most important step. By niche I mean have a well defined speciality or a subject. For example if you have a blog about building muscle, the subject is too broad based, and you need to specialize further. There are way too many blogs about muscle building. Say within the topic build muscles, you narrow down to build muscle fast and lose weight, and further down to build muscles and gain six pack abs, you have a well defined niche which helps you in contacting a special customer for your products. Now you can write more meaningful content for your well defined and targeted market.

You’re Unique, Shouldn’t Be Your Blog Too?

Content is Always the King – We’ve heard this over and all over again.  It is necessary to have a quality content because it is an essential way how you can achieve returning visitors to your site that will read more of your posts. All bloggers start a blog with seriousness but as soon as the interests starts shifting to other stuff, the motivation to write more posts and articles suffers back. There are a lot of blogs on the blogosphere that are being fed up with RSS feeds from different resources. While it is still alright to post something or an article that means a lot to you, but an entire blog which is made from a simple cut and paste or RSS feeds is simply not okay. This is obvious that the blogger has run out of steam. One cannot expect to succeed if one does not provide visitors to the blog that has something of value or something original. We should often have to remember that a better option is simply just a click away.

Feed your blog or it will die

Some successful bloggers update their blog daily, others once, twice or trice a week. While every blogger’s approach varies, but all successful bloggers agree that the blog has to be updated on a consistent basis. One excellent way to keep the interest and expectation high. Tell your followers your schedule for the next post. Use social media or social networking sites like Twitter and Facebook. Add your blog to your Facebook and Twitter accounts so that your followers know when new content has been uploaded and to let your regular readers know when the next post is going to be posted. This keeps your visitors coming in regularly and helps you have higher chances of making sales.

Now what we need to do is step back and review our blog. Take a few moments, analyze the blog objectively, and then take steps to rectify what we think is missing. The basic necessity to succeed in any sphere including blogging is your dedication and adaptability.

Isiah Jeremiah - IJ they call me. I started blogging last February 2009 in the Blogger platform and was also hooked up with PTC's - made some extra money (although I was scammed for xxx times) and transmuted those pennies for domain and hosting last May. I enjoy blogging with self-hosted WordPress and I'm on my way in this awesome venture!
