Hi, it’s been awhile since I posted here in my blog. I’ve been very busy in the school as you might know I’m a college student and I’m currently working with a very deadly case studies in several programming languages (ugh!) that makes a lot of headache.

Anyway, here is my new article about “Seasonal Niche(s),” if you’re familiar with that. This post is designed to inform you a little bit about seasonal niche markets, and why they can be incredibly profitable for you. I will not be going in-depth in this report, just giving an overview of seasonal markets so that you are aware of them and why they are profitable.

Many people do not enter seasonal niche markets, because they figure that it is only a temporary market and it will just be a waste of time. They would rather enter a market that will make them money all year round, not one that is only profitable for a few months or less. However, they don’t realize that these niches can make you more money in a few months, than other niches will make you in a whole year.

Did you know that Halloween is a $3 Billion niche? Internet Christmas purchases average around $120 per customer, and more and more people are purchasing gifts through the internet because it is cheaper. People are willing to spend hundreds of dollars on their significant other for Valentine’s Day. These niches are HUGE!

These niches are not as difficult to get involved in as you might imagine, and they are so huge that there is room for you to enter and take your share of the money. After all, if people are spending over $1 billion, why can’t you get a little?

There are many seasonal niche markets, as there are quite a few different seasons and different holidays where people spend a lot of money, and where you can promote products as an affiliate. The great thing about these markets is that they are totally recession proof. It doesn’t matter how bad the economy gets, people are still going to buy Halloween costumes for their children and pets. People will always buy Christmas gifts, even if the economy tanks. People are willing to spend money on their significant other for Valentine’s Day, even if they are dead broke.

One way you can tell that these markets are huge is by looking at department stores. You can see that at these times of year, the department stores go all out to decorate the store with the theme of the holiday or season. They fill the stores with anything related to the niche, because they know it will sell! They don’t necessarily speak of it in the same terms as internet marketers, but it is the exact same thing, only on a larger scale.
Offline stores make huge profits during these special times of year, but they only target a local area. With the internet, you can target all of North America and every other English speaking country in the world (And if you are bilingual, you can target other countries too!).

Ok, so you now know that these markets can be incredibly profitable, so now you probably want to know how you can go about profiting from them. The first time entering these markets, you may not make a lot of money I will admit, as it is a different type of market. First of all, with these markets you are dealing with physical products.

For seasonal niche markets you have to move away from Clickbank products, as Clickbank deals with digital products and these niche markets deal almost completely with physical products. I mean, who buys their friend an eBook for Christmas or a digital Halloween costume? Clickbank is great for other markets, but these seasonal markets are not a place where Clickbank is useful.

The two most common centers for finding physical products to promote as an affiliate are Amazon and Commission Junction. Amazon has a very different style of affiliate program and the payout percentages are quite a bit lower on these products, but if you can sell 100X more of them, then it is still worth your time to promote products on Amazon. Commission Junction is set up similar to Clickbank, but of course deals with physical products. I am not going to discuss the statistics that CJ provides because they are not very accurate for these markets.

How do you know which products to promote in these markets? There are a few ways you can tell. Let’s look at Halloween as an example, as it is the easiest market to determine what is going to sell. The first thing you can do to see what is going to be hot, is look at what movies are big at the time. Halloween costumes related to popular movies sell like crazy. This last Halloween Iron Man was huge, the Hulk was also pretty big and Batman was pretty popular. If you looked around to see what Halloween costumes people were buying, you would notice that Iron Man costumes were selling like crazy, and the Hulk and Batman were selling fairly well too.

Another way you can tell what is going to be popular is look at what the department stores are selling. These stores pay millions of dollars for market research; do you not think they have a pretty good idea what is going to be popular? If you take a look at what the department stores are selling, you can get a pretty good idea of what will be popular online. People are moving to online purchases because they are cheaper, so let the department stores do the research and you make the money!

The third method of finding profitable products to promote, and the last one that I am going to discuss is most beneficial if you have young children. If you have kids, ask them what costumes they want to have for Halloween! I have seen kids list off ten different costumes they want for Halloween, so just write down what costumes they want and you will have a nice list of costumes that will most likely sell really well. (Unless your kid is strange and likes things that no other kid does, but I am assuming that you will know better than to ask your kid if they hate everything that is popular with everyone else) If you do not have kids, then ask your friends children, if you have any friends with children. If you don’t have friends with children, then if you are a little bit outgoing you can ask people at the mall, or on the street. Or, you can simply ignore this method and stick with the first two.

Once you know which products to promote, you find them on Amazon or Commission Junction and you begin to promote them, using the same methods as with other markets, making sure you dominate pages of Google for the keywords you are targeting. Once you have got the hang of seasonal markets, and you want to go for the big money, that’s when you get into drop shipping. Drop shipping is where the big money is to be made, but you shouldn’t start with that until you have gotten a feel for the market. I will not be discussing drop shipping in this report, as it is completely outside the scope of this material.

I am going to finish my discussion of seasonal markets here, as now you have a basic overview of what they are, why they are profitable and how you can profit from them. I know it wasn’t in-depth or anything earth shattering, but that is not what I intended with this report. I hope this report has enlightened you a bit as to how and why you should enter seasonal niche markets, and I hope you will achieve great success.

    Thanks for reading.  :)
